Are all of your designs made by hand?
Yes! I started designing my beloved line of jewelry almost three years ago at my mom's kitchen table. I create all of my designs by hand using small-scale metalsmithing techniques in my mill studio in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Every piece is hand cut, shaped, forged, polished and assembled to ensure a high quality design. My jewelry can be found at numerous boutiques, galleries and artisan markets throughout New England.
What materials do you use to make your jewelry?
I create my designs by using sterling silver, 14 kt gold fill and brass combined with natural gemstones, leather and quills. Gold-filled is made by heat- and pressure- bonding a thin layer of 14 karat gold to a brass (or other base metal) core which makes for a more permanent bond than gold plated. I carefully select my materials so that each piece is beautiful and comfortable, durable and graceful.
How do I care for my jewelry?
Sterling silver and brass jewelry may acquire a dark, antique-y patina with repeated wear. While I love the way this looks, you may want to keep them looking shiny and new. Jewelry polishing cloths work well and I sell them at markets and in my studio or you can use a commercial brass cleaner, like “JAX”, which is available at many jewelry stores and online.
Where can I find your work?
You can find my jewelry in a number of boutiques listed here. I also sell my work at markets all over New England. A complete listing of the markets and events that I participate in can be found here. My studio in Amesbury, MA is open to the public. Please contact me ahead of time to arrange a time to come by.
